Workplace Diversity Recognition Program

SEPA SHRM is recognizing and honoring a chapter member for their contributions to diversity initiatives within their organization. The objective of this award is to promote a greater consciousness for the need of diversity and to encourage members to focus on the subject of diversity which, in turn, will open doors and provide greater opportunities for all individuals.

The Criteria for the Diversity Award is:

  • The winner must be a SEPA SHRM Chapter Member.
  • The creation of an action-driven program which has generated beneficial and/or measurable results within the past two (2) years.
  • The demonstration of superior leadership in the area of diversity.

Examples might include:

  • Flexible work options
  • Reaching out to diverse communities for recruitment
  • Generate multi-language communications
  • Educating cultural differences
  • Provide diversity events
  • Include domestic partners in the insurance coverage
  • Explore different networking activities
  • Require diversity efforts from suppliers, vendors, clients, etc.

Nomination Process:

  • Self-nominations, chapter membe nominations, and company nominations are acceptable.
  • Nomination forms are available from any board member, diversity task force member or submitted here
  • Nomination forms must be submitted to any board member or task force member. They may also be submitted electronically on the SEPA SHRM website.
