There is a workplace phenomenon in the United States that causes serious, widespread emotional abuse and has nothing to do with race, sex, age, disability or any other legally protected classes. It is a terrifying kind of workplace victimization that is well known in Europe, and is becoming better understood and recognized here.
It is called "Bullying" or "Mobbing" in the workplace. Yes, we all know about occurances of childhood Bullying in the Schoolyard - but there are millions of adult Americans who suffer the trama of workplace bullying; a trama that causes innocent, productive employees to become "difficult employees" or to flee from the workplace.
According to a survey sponsored by the Workplace Bullying Institute in 2010, 35 percent of U.S. workers have experienced or witnessed bullying.
What is this mob-like behavior being practiced, not just by "bosses" but also by co-workers? Who are the victims - non-management employees or are managers and supervisors also being undermined by jealous or unscrupulous subordinates? What is the impact - economically, of this syndrome? What are the major elements of this syndrome and how do you know whether or not it is present in YOUR workplace? Join us for this informative session.
