We invite you to join us in an informative conversation designed to showcase how HR can be a business partner with the C-Suite.

HR’s role continues to develop and grow within organization.  Those that elevate the position to the C-Suite benefit.  Strong HR is a business necessity.  Today’s conversations will focus on:

  • HR as the driver and keeper of culture by designing and managing workplace practices that are aligned with the organization’s statements of vision, values and ethics.
  • How employee engagement is critical in impacting and directing the objectives and strategic goals of the business.
  • Design and evaluate HR data indicators to inform strategic actions within the organization.
  • HR as a business unit utilizing their skills to interpret and use business metrics to assess and drive achievement of strategic goals and objectives, including compensation management and succession planning.

A synchronized and engaged workforce is paramount in today’s intense labor market.  It is imperative that HR is at the heart of the discussion and conversation with the C-Suite to drive culture and generate increased retention.

Luanne  Fisher is the President and CEO of Liberty Lutheran Services serving over 30,000 people with 1,200 employees through multiple corporations and several locations.  Under Luanne’s leadership, Liberty Lutheran has grown significantly and awarded the following:

Luanne has been awarded the Paul P. Haas Lifetime Achievement Award from LeadingAge PA in June 2012 and was presented with the Excellence in Leadership Award from Leading Age at their annual conference in Denver in October 2012.

Luanne served on the Board of Lutheran Services in America (LSA) where she chaired the Governance Committee and Nominating Committee, and was a member of the LSA President/CEO Search Committee.  Luanne also served on the faculty of Temple University as an assistant professor and taught several graduate level courses as an adjunct faculty member.   She has served on various boards and community organizations in leadership roles.

She is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator.  Luanne received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Penn State University, and a Master’s and Doctorate degree from Temple University.

David Brown, SHRM-SCP, SPHR,NHA, Liberty Lutheran Services

David is the Vice President of Human Resources for Liberty Lutheran Services, a non-profit senior care provider in PA.  In his role as VP he oversees a 13 person staff responsible for serving Liberty’s eight (8) Families of Service totaling 1,200 employees.  During his 28 year tenure there, he has also served as the Personal Care Administrator and as a Nursing Home Administrator for one of Liberty’s Families of Service.

David has presented on numerous Human Resources topics for the Pennsylvania Association for Non-Profit Homes for the Aging (PANPHA), Leading Age- PA, and Lutheran Services in America.  David serves as the Secretary of the SEPA SHRM board.  David is a graduate of Millersville University where he majored in Business Administration.  He continued his education and professional certifications, receiving his Nursing Home Administrator’s license and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certificate through Villanova University.
