 Hot Issues at the EEOC

Join us for a presentation on July 16, 2019 by EEOC Senior Trial Attorney, Tom Rethage, who will discuss the latest and greatest from the EEOC’s perspective, including cases being litigated and settled and the EEOC’s enforcement and regulatory priorities.  The presentation will cover issues like:

  • Pay equity and EEO-1 reporting
  • Pending U.S. Supreme Court cases involving LGBT rights and charge filing requirements
  • ADA issues related to reasonable accommodation, such as transfers and leaves of absence
  • Intersection of EEOC and NLRB guidance on joint employment and integrated employers (Browning Ferris)
  • Adverse employment actions, reasonable accommodation, and retaliation
  • Parental leaves

Tom offers a unique perspective on these issues, having practiced as a defense-side labor and employment lawyer before joining the EEOC.  At the EEOC, where he has worked since 2011, Tom has enforced, including through litigation, federal anti-discrimination statutes.
